Justice D.Y. Chandrachud and Justice A.S. Bopanna recuse themselves from hearing the Krishna water dispute

A dispute over the sharing of Krishna waters has been ongoing for many decades, between Hyderabad, Mysore, ,Maharashtra, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
Justice Chandrachud said he had had a word with Justice Bopanna and they decided to withdraw from hearing the case as Justice Chandrachud is from Maharashtra and Justice Bopanna hails from Karnataka.
Earlier, CJI, N V Ramana had also recused from hearing a petition filed by Andhra Pradesh accusing neighbour Telangana of depriving its people of their legitimate share of water.
