For instance, in the recent past, there have been numerous decisions against market players such as Apple in the digital payments market space, and against Google and Facebook, with respect to search advertising and data collection. Thus, it has become pertinent to discuss the application of competition law with reference to the Big Tech companies and digital markets in general. In furtherance, the Course would broadly cover topics such as inter alia abuse of dominant position by big tech companies, approach of the CCI in comparison to other antitrust regulators across the world, and analysing the efficiency justifications in the digital market.
