About the Opportunity:
PSL actively seeks to engage highly motivated and academically oriented final-year law students as Research Assistants (‘RA’), on a long-term basis (4-6 months) to support the research endeavours of the firm. It is a unique opportunity which offers aspiring lawyers an extensive chance to get insights from Associates and Partners at the firm and gain exposure to the practical application of legal research. The position will require RAs to undertake multijurisdictional research and think out of the box; therefore, proficiency in using research tools such as Kluwer, Westlaw, Manupatra, and SCC including public online libraries is a must.
The underlying objective is to impart knowledge through mentorship and equip students with a rigorous skill set to excel in contemporary advocacy. The opportunity will also involve regular interactions and feedback sessions to ensure maximum learning outcomes and get an insider perspective of law firm practice.
Application and Screening Process:
The application procedure entails a three-tier review and screening process of the candidates.
The first round consists of an application as a pre-requisite that shall consist of the following:
- an expression of interest not exceeding 250 words indicating the inclination and motivation of the
candidate in pursuing the said opportunity at PSL; - Curriculum Vitae (CV) of the candidate;
- an article/ case comment pertaining to Arbitration, IBC, Commercial Law or White-Collar Crimes; and
- list of publications.

Interested candidates are encouraged to submit their applications in the above stipulated format along with all necessary documents failing which, such application(s) shall not be considered.
The shortlisted candidate(s) from the first round will be invited for a personal interaction/ interview session to be held virtually. The personal interaction/ interview session will include a technical session to ensure the candidate is well-versed in the first principles of law.
Based on the above screening, the shortlisted candidate(s) from the second round will undergo an interaction/ discussion with the concerned Partner as the last leg of the screening process.
Eligibility Criteria and Requirement:
- The position of the RA is open for all final-year students currently enrolled in 3rd/ 5th year LLB
courses. - The potential/ interested candidate is expected to be well conversant with the foundational basics
of the practice areas of PSL as enlisted hereinabove. - Prior academic/ co-curricular achievements are desirable for the interested candidates.
- The candidate is expected to be creative, zealous, open to learning, actively contributing to
knowledge management initiatives of PSL along with immense commitment to work.
