About Justice Hima Kohli:

Justice Hima Kohli went to school in Delhi. She studied history until post-graduation at Delhi University. She then took up law at the Campus Law Centre. In 1984, she enrolled as an advocate at the Bar Council of Delhi and practised at the Courts there. In 1999, she was appointed as Standing Counsel for the New Delhi Municipal Council at the Delhi High Court. She held this position until she was appointed as Additional Standing Counsel Civil for the Government of NCT Delhi in 2004. She was also the Legal Advisor to various government and private corporations.

In 2006, she was elevated to the Delhi High Court as an Additional Judge. The following year, she was confirmed as a permanent Judge on August 29th, 2008. During her tenure as a Delhi High Court judge, she was a part of various committees including legal aid, decongestion of jails, mediation and the Delhi Judicial Academy. In 2021, she was sworn in as the Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court. She was the first woman Chief Justice of this Court. She was elevated to the Supreme Court in 2021.
