About the Vacancy
As a Senior Legal Associate at Unacademy, you will be responsible for a wide range of legal activities to ensure the company’s compliance with laws and regulations while facilitating its growth. This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented, and business-savvy legal professional who can effectively navigate the complexities of commercial agreements, provide strategic legal guidance to internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Agreement Drafting and Negotiation:
- Draft and negotiate commercial agreements with educators and content providers of the Company
- Structure, draft, and negotiate various commercial agreements with vendors, service providers, and handle subsequent amendments or renewals.
Contract Review and Analysis:
- Review, interpret, and analyze agreements to advise internal teams on their rights and responsibilities concerning those agreements.
- Ensure that all agreements align with the business model and internal policies.
Legal Advice and Research:
- Provide routine legal advice to business and operations units.
- Conduct legal research on various topics and stay updated on relevant laws and regulations.
Contract Database Management:
- Maintain the contract database, including sending renewal reminders and processing any renewal or amendment requests as received.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in law (LLB).
- 2+ years of experience in commercial contract drafting, review and negotiation.
- Candidates with prior experience in contracts in in-house teams will be given preference.
- High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Sound judgement and ability to analyze situations and information.
