About the Vacancy

Treelife is looking for a candidate who should be wise with strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of awareness to discern client needs and build strong business relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Position to be hired for Senior Associate – Disputes & Litigation

Key Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage litigation and regulatory matters arising from disputes or conflicts with customers, partners, and government authorities, including business-related disputes related to tax, HR, labor laws, and operations.
  • Advising and managing disputes/litigations to minimize company exposure and risks.
  • Handling consumer matters, criminal, civil, and other court cases, as well as arbitration proceedings.
  • Provides legal advisory for trademark and copyright applications, cheque bounce issues, Intellectual Property (IP) related issues etc.
  • Drafts and review agreements, notices, replies, petitions, written statements, and other legal documents.
  • Formulates and implements recovery strategies in the event of litigation, while also liaising with law firms and advocates for the vetting of legal litigation documents.
  • Manages disciplinary processes for errant franchisees, oversees follow-up processes, and handles terminations, all while addressing and advising on customer complaints.

Key Requirements

  • BLS (LLB/LLM) or BA (LLB/LLM) from a recognized university;
  • 4 – 6 years of experience in a law firm, boutique or otherwise;
  • The candidate should have hands-on experience in the following:- Intellectual Property (IP), Cheque bounce, Trademarks & Copyrights, Disputes & civil litigation
  • Ability to exercise judgment and discretion to opine on legal issues effectively
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • A command over the language both from a legal and a colloquial perspective.
  • Inclination to work in a fast-paced environment and develop a network
  • Research, analysis and interpretation of legal information relevant to the case.
  • Prior Startup Experience Preferred with a Great Network.
