Eligibility Criteria
- Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B) from a recognized university or institution recognized by the Bar Council of India.
- Candidates enrolled as Advocates with the Bar Council of India or any State Bar Council under the Advocates Act, 1961.
- Experience:
- Varies based on the level of engagement:
- A: 1-2 years
- B: 2-3 years
- C: 3-4 years
- D: 4-5 years or LL.M with 1 year
- E: 5-6 years or LL.M with 2 years
- F: 6-7 years or LL.M with 3 years
- G: More than 7 years or LL.M with 4 years
- Varies based on the level of engagement:
- Desirable:
- Experience in handling legal matters related to environmental laws, biodiversity, forests, wildlife, pollution, etc.
- Diploma/Certificate in related fields.
- Age Limit:
- Maximum age: 50 years as of the last date of application submission.
Job Responsibilities
Legal Associates will assist the Ministry in:
- Handling legal issues related to environmental laws and frameworks.
- Drafting affidavits, applications, and petitions for submission to various courts, including the Supreme Court and High Courts.
- Monitoring and maintaining the status of ongoing legal cases.
- Providing legal inputs for amendments to acts, rules, and notifications.
- Liaising with legal counsels and preparing material for case briefings.
Application Process
- Mode of Application:
- Applications must be submitted online at MoEF&CC Recruitment Portal.
- Required Documents:
- Educational certificates (LL.B, LL.M, etc.).
- Experience certificates.
- Enrollment certificate from Bar Council.
- Proof of age.
- Any additional supporting documents.
- Deadline:
- Submit applications by 31st January 2025 (11:59 PM). Applications received through other modes or after the deadline will not be entertained.
Terms of Engagement
- Contract Period:
- Initial engagement for 1 year, extendable up to a maximum of 5 years based on performance.
- Nature of Engagement:
- Temporary and contractual, without any claim to regular appointment.
- Remuneration and Benefits:
- Consolidated monthly pay as per the category of engagement.
- Associates are entitled to 1.5 days leave per month.
- Termination:
- The Ministry reserves the right to terminate the engagement without notice for unsatisfactory performance.
