Institute of Law, Nirma University, Ahmedabad is organizing an Online Training Programme on “Legal Aspects of Handling Contract Labour with Directives of the Supreme Court” in Online Mode on April 5-6, 2024.  

The Programme is open for students of law, MBA (HR), and others, professionals, industry experts, academicians, etc.

About the Programme

As per the 2011 census, total workforce in India is 54,46 crores of which 4,15 crores workers are engaged in Organised Sector while 50,31 crore workers are engaged in Unorganised sector. In organized sector, the employment of contract labour is very common. The compliance of all the labour laws inclusing the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970 is significant to prevernt the exploitation of contract workers. 

Contract Labour is governed by the Contract Labour (Regulation & Abolition) Act, 1970. The object of the Act is to prevent exploitation of contract labour and also to introduce better condition of work. Contract workmen are indirect employees, and differs from direct labour in terms of employment relationship with the establishment, method of wage payment and social security benefits.

This programme is designed by the experts keeping in mind the importance and applications of Contract Labour (Regulation & Abolition) Act, 1970. The programme is expected to be useful for the participants who have a legal background and non-law background and the people who are directly or indirectly involved in the engagement of contract labour. The Programme structure is designed to equip the participants with the basic knowledge of the law of the Contract Labour (Regulation & Abolition) Act, 1970. 

Award of Certificate

After completion of the programme, the participant of the programme will be awarded the Certificate of Completion as per grading schemes application at the Institute of Law, Nirma University.

The certificate will be awarded to the participants who appear in the MCQ.

Attendance is compulsory in the course.
