About the Organization
The Centre for Intellectual Property Studies (CIPS), started in 2018 under the aegis of National Law University Jodhpur, aims to update the society and industry on core issues such as the growth in IPR violations, amongst others. CIPS also aims at suggesting amendments and efficient implementation of IP to the Government of India and monitoring design and dissemination of various courses and programmes pertaining to intellectual property rights training and research.
About Event
The Centre for Intellectual Property Studies [“CIPS”] and Journal of Intellectual Property Studies [“JIPS”], National Law University Jodhpur [“NLUJ”] is pleased to announce the NLUJ – CIPS & JIPS WEBINAR on PROTECTION OF FOODSTUFFS UNDER GI: IMPLICATION OF TRADITIONAL SPECIALITIES GUARANTEED.
The webinar will focus on the scope of protection of foodstuffs through Traditional Specialities Guaranteed (TSG) category in the EU. The discussions will also revolve around the applicability of the TSG in India as by virtue of The Geographical Indications of Goods (Registration and Protection) Act, 1999, foodstuffs are included as a category of goods under the purview of protection under GI system in India. The webinar seeks to provide participants with a new perspective on the protection of foodstuffs through a slightly varied approach of the EU.
