About the Individual Consultant (Legal) Role at PNGRB
PNGRB is inviting applications for the engagement of individual consultants (legal) at Level II. The selected individual consultant will be designated as a Deputy Consultant. The initial engagement will be for one year, extendable by another two years at the discretion of PNGRB. There will be a probation period of six months, with continued engagement beyond this period confirmed by the Board based on performance.
Key Qualifications & Experience
To be considered for this vital role, applicants must meet specific requirements:
- Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess an Individual Law Degree from a recognized University/Law School.
- Experience: A minimum of 03 years experience is mandatory in the following areas:
- Drafting/vetting regulations, statutes, and/or legislations.
- Dealing with Courts/Appellate Tribunals matters.
- Settling disputes/arbitration.
- Desirable Experience: Previous exposure to Competition Law is a desirable qualification.
- Age Limit: The applicant’s age shall be below 62 years as on the date of last date of receipt of application for the position.
Remuneration & Contract Terms
The selected Individual Consultant (Legal) at Level II will receive a lump sum monthly remuneration of Rs 90,000/-. This remuneration will see a 10 percent increase upon the completion of each year in PNGRB. It is important to note that no other allowance on account of conveyance, telephone, etc., will be paid.
Key terms and conditions of engagement include:
- Contract Basis: The engagement is strictly on a contract basis. The selected individual consultants will be engaged on this basis only and will not have any right or claim for permanent employment with PNGRB. PNGRB will not entertain any type of correspondence in this regard.
- Leave Policy: Individual consultants are allowed to avail one day leave per month during the consultancy period. They may accumulate these leaves up to a maximum of three days and avail the same together. Beyond the allowed leaves, the monthly consultancy fee will be reduced proportionately.
- Termination: PNGRB reserves the right to terminate or curtail the consultancy period at any time without assigning any reason. In case the individual consultant desires to leave the consultancy services, they may do so by giving three months’ notice.
- Confidentiality: Individual consultants shall maintain confidentiality of information/data. Violation may lead to legal remedies, including civil/criminal case etc., and may further debar such individual consultant from future engagement by the Board.
- Acceptance of Terms: The selected individual consultants will be required to sign a copy of the engagement letter and the terms & conditions, which will be treated as a contract, at the time of joining PNGRB.
