Press Release: NLU Assam Successfully Conducts 4th Vox Anatolis Moot Court Competition with Pan-India Participation

The National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam, successfully organised the 4th Vox Anatolis Moot Court Competition in a virtual format from 25th to 27th April 2025. The three-day event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 80 teams representing prestigious institutions across the country, including National Law School of India University, Bengaluru; Tamil Nadu National Law University; Rajiv Gandhi National Law University, Punjab; and Jindal Global Law School, Sonepat, among others.

The semi-final rounds, conducted on 26th April 2025, featured teams from NLSIU Bengaluru, Alliance University, Asian Law College, and the Institute of Law, Nirma University. These rounds were judged by a distinguished panel comprising Dr. Gitanjali Ghosh, Dr. Sangeetha Sriraam, Dr. Anwesha Pal, Ms. Madhumita Bhattacharjee, Ms. Srija Choudhury, and Mr. Swarnendu Chatterjee, all of whom brought their considerable academic and professional expertise to the competition.

The final round, held on 27th April 2025, saw a compelling contest between the Institute of Law, Nirma University, and NLSIU Bengaluru. The round was adjudicated by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Suman Shyam and Hon’ble Mr. Justice Kaushik Goswami, Judges of the Gauhati High Court. The Institute of Law, Nirma University was declared the Winner of the competition, while NLSIU Bengaluru emerged as the Runner-Up.

Individual accolades were awarded as follows:

  • Best Speaker (Preliminary Rounds): Mahashweta Mitra, Bennett University
  • Best Researcher: B. Dhanusri, Alliance University
  • Best Memorial: NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad

The competition was a collaborative endeavour marked by the active involvement of the entire student community of NLU Assam. At the valedictory ceremony, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) K.V.S. Sarma delivered the Vote of Thanks, commending the participants for their exemplary advocacy and research skills, and encouraging young legal aspirants to continue honing their legal acumen.

The Moot Court Committee, under the guidance of Faculty Coordinator Dr. Shailendra Kumar, extended its appreciation to all student volunteers and participants whose tireless efforts contributed to the seamless execution and overall success of the event.
