The Indian Army invites applications from unmarried male and female law graduates for the Judge Advocate General (JAG) Entry Scheme 35th Course starting October 2025. This prestigious opportunity offers a Short Service Commission (SSC) in the JAG Branch of the Indian Army, providing legal professionals a unique pathway to serve the nation.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Nationality: Citizen of India or certain categories of individuals as specified in the official notification.
  2. Age Limit: 21 to 27 years as of 1st July 2025 (born between 2nd July 1998 and 1st July 2004, both inclusive).
  3. Educational Qualification:
    • Minimum 55% aggregate marks in LL.B. (3 years after graduation or 5 years after 10+2).
    • Mandatory CLAT PG 2024 Score.
    • Eligible for registration as an advocate with the Bar Council of India/State.

Number of Vacancies

  • Men: 4 positions
  • Women: 4 positions

Tenure of Engagement

  • Initial: 10 years
  • Extension: Up to 14 years
  • Permanent Commission: Optional after 10 years.

Training Details

  • Training Academy: Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai.
  • Duration: 49 weeks starting October 2025.
  • Stipend: ₹56,100/month during training.

Post-Commission Rank

  • Lieutenant upon successful commissioning.

Selection Process

  1. Application: Online application at www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.
  2. Shortlisting: Based on CLAT PG 2024 scores.
  3. SSB Interview: Duration: 5 days at Selection Centers in Prayagraj, Bhopal, Bangalore, or Jalandhar.
  4. Medical Examination: Only recommended candidates undergo a detailed medical examination.
  5. Merit List: Final selection is based on SSB scores and available vacancies.
