Vacancy for Legal Consultant and Research Assistants at the Supreme Court of India (Apply by 29th June 2025)

The Supreme Court of India, through its Recruitment Cell invites applications from eligible Indian citizens for engagement as Consultant (Research) and Research Assistants on a short-term contractual basis.

The recruitment drive focuses on two crucial roles:

Consultant (Research) Vacancy

The Supreme Court is looking to engage 3 Consultant (Research) professionals. This contractual assignment offers a consolidated remuneration of Rs. 1,25,000/- per month. The initial term for this role is one year, with a possibility of extension for one more year, and will be based on interaction.

Research Assistant Vacancy

There are 6 positions available for Research Assistants. These roles come with a consolidated remuneration of Rs. 80,000/- per month, which will increase to Rs. 90,000/- upon the completion of a one-year term. Similar to the Consultant role, the Research Assistant position is also a contractual assignment, initially for one year, extendable by one more year based on published paper and interaction.

Essential Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for these prestigious legal roles, candidates must meet specific qualifications and experience requirements:

• General Eligibility: Applicants must be Indian citizens who are law graduates as on June 29, 2025. The age limit for both positions is not exceeding 35 years.

Qualifications for Consultant (Research)

• An LLB Degree from a recognized University is mandatory.
• Candidates must possess excellent writing skills.
• Prior experience in research in a similar field for at least one year is required.
• Proficiency in IT skills, including familiarity with data analysis, preparation of Excel spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations, is essential.
• Applicants should demonstrate excellent legal skills, familiarity with legal databases and legal information websites, and a strong capacity for legal research.

Qualifications for Research Assistant:

• An LLB Degree from a recognized University is required, and candidates must have also written some paper published, including a book, dissertation, or thesis.
• Excellent writing skills are a must.
• Prior experience in research in a similar field for at least one year is necessary.
• Knowledge of IT skills, including data analysis, Excel spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations, is important.
• Candidates should have excellent legal skills, familiarity with legal databases and legal information website, and a capacity for legal research.
