About the Conference
Convergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Human Rights is a complex and critical issue that involves ethical, legal, and social considerations. The intersection of AI and human rights raises concerns about accountability, transparency, and the protection of fundamental rights. Various sources highlight the importance of ensuring that AI technologies respect human dignity and rights, especially for vulnerable groups like women, the children, the elderly and people with disabilities. One key aspect emphasized in the discussion is the need for a common framework of standards to guide the use of AI in legal contexts, ensuring that human control is maintained over AI systems. Thus, the convergence of AI and human rights necessitates a comprehensive approach that prioritizes human dignity, accountability, transparency, and ethical considerations in the development and deployment of AI technologies to safeguard fundamental rights and values. In this context, Justice V. R. Krishna Iyer, Chair on Human Rights at the School of Legal Studies, Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kerala, is hosting a Two-Day International Hybrid Conference on the Convergence of Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights. This conference aims to offer a platform for discussions on the intersection of artificial intelligence and human rights, addressing critical issues related to ethics, and legal implications.
