The DPIIT-IPR Chair is established at Osmania University under the SPRIHA scheme of Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.
The IPR Chair aims to promote IPR Culture and contribute to IPR research and knowledge. The DPIIT-IPR Chair at Osmania University looks forward to collaborate with academics, researchers and industry to promote effective utilization of IPRs.
About the Opportunity
The DPIIT-IPR Chair at Osmania University, is organizing a Know Your IP series of Weekly Lectures/ Interactions/ Interviews with the primary objective of dissemination of knowledge on Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs). It will offer insights and inputs on various forms of IPRs relevant to all the stakeholders, by demystifying the fundamentals of IP and highlighting the recent developments in the Intellectual Property (IP) domain.
The Know Your IP Week-17 Online Lecture/Webinar is on the topic: IPR Protection: Pre and Post TRIPS by Prof. V. Balakista Reddy, Registrar, NALSAR University of Law, Professor of Air and Space Law, Course Coordinator, LL.M. (ITBL), Director, Centre for Aerospace and Defence Laws (CADL) & Director, Centre for Tribal and Land Rights (CTLR).
About the Resource Person
Dr. V. Balakista Reddy, Professor of International Law and is serving the Registrar at NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad since 2014. He also heads the Centre for Aerospace and Defence Laws and Centre for Tribal and Land Rights at NALSAR.
Dr. Reddy obtained his LL.M in International Law from Osmania University and M. Phil. And Ph.D. in International Air and Space Law from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. He has more than 20 years of teaching and research experience.
Dr. Reddy was awarded the Meritorious State Teachers Award-2017 by the Higher Education Department, Government of Telangana. Dr. Reddy is an internationally recognized expert in the field of International Law and particularly International Air & Space Law.
Dr. Reddy has presented papers at numerous prestigious national and international forums including the United Nations.
He has also been a member of the Drafting Committee constituted by Indian Space Research Organization for Drafting of Model Space Legislation for India and Sensitization Programme on WTO/GATS and Globalization of Legal Profession: Opportunities and Challenges for Indian Legal Fraternity.
