About the Organisation

The Centre for Criminology, Criminal Justice and Victimology (CCV) has been purposefully established under the able leadership of Prof. (Dr.) G.S. Bajpai, Vice-Chancellor, RGNUL, to provide critical and necessitated focus towards fostering the objective of carrying fundamental and applied research on the evolving aspects of the transformative criminal justice system including the dimensions of victimology and criminology as particular areas of interest. The Centre understands and caters to the progressive and dynamic nature of the developing criminal jurisprudence in India and across the world and therefore, firmly intends to conceptualize pro-victim research, training, policy analysis, and consultancy with specifically prioritizing the aspect of interdisciplinary approach while fulfilling the desired goals. The Centre for Criminal Law and Victimology (CCV) aims at contributing towards the fundamental and applied research and action in the field of Criminology, Criminal Law, Criminal Justice, Victim Justice, and Victimology. The Centre is uniquely determined to examine, express, elucidate and expedite the systematic delivery and efficient redressal of the rights of the victim within the comprehensive criminal justice system in India to mitigate the hardships faced by the victims.

About the Event

Rajiv Gandhi National University of law, Punjab’s Centre for Criminology, Criminal justice and Victimology (CCV) is hosting its 1st RGNUL-CCV Legislation Drafting Competition, 2021. This competition provides a platform where the best minds can come forward and critically utilize this opportunity of curating and drafting the legislative bills whereby experiencing the nuances of framing the law with the aim of encouraging the students towards the process of law making and and governance.

Participants have to draft a legislation titled- “Victims of Crime (Rights, Protection & Assistance) Bill. The Competition is open to all law students pursuing LLM or LLB.(3-Year or 5-Year course from a recognized university within the territory of India).

Registration

Award

First prize ₹ 5,000 ( Five Thousand only)

Second prize ₹3,000 (Three Thousand only)

Third prize ₹ 2,000 (Two thousand only)

Important Dates

Submission date :-30th November 2021

Final result:- 20th December 2021
