Vacancy for Young Professionals (Grade-I) in Competition Commission of India (CCI)

The Competition Commission of India (CCI), established under the Competition Act, 2002, is seeking dynamic and self-motivated individuals for engagement as Young Professionals (YPs) in the Law field on a contract basis.

Young Professionals will be required to assist the Commission in the discharge of its functions under the Competition Act, 2002, and undertake various assigned tasks. Applicants should possess effective analytical, communication (including technical writing), and interpersonal skills.

Essential Qualifications and Desirable Specializations

To be eligible for the Law Young Professionals (Grade-I) position, candidates must meet specific educational and professional requirements.

Essential Educational Qualification:

  • A Degree of LL. B or equivalent from a recognized University and/or Institute in India or abroad, which is recognized by the Bar Council of India.
  • The candidate must be qualified to be registered as an advocate in any State Bar Council in India in terms of the Advocates Act, 1961.

Desirable Specialization:

  • Specialization in fields such as competition law or regulatory laws.
  • Specialization in laws relating to Intellectual Property Rights or International Trade Laws.
  • Specialization in Corporate Law or Financial Law, etc., is also desirable.

Professional Experience Required for Law Young Professionals (Grade-I)

For the Young Professional Grade-I category, the preferred experience is up to three years. The required professional experience should fall under one of the following categories:

  1. Experience in judicial or legal work in the Supreme Court, High Court, or any other Court, Government or a Regulatory Authority, or a Tribunal or any similar forum.
  2. Experience as a Professor/Reader/Lecturer of Law of any recognized University/Professional Institute of India or abroad, with specialization in teaching competition law.
  3. Experience as a Legal Manager or above in the Corporate sector, provided they have experience or are handling acquisitions, mergers, and amalgamations, etc., under competition law.

Remuneration and Contract Details

The terms and conditions for engagement are governed by the guidelines contained in the Competition Commission of India (Procedure for Engagement of Experts and Professionals) Regulations, 2009, as amended from time to time.

Remuneration:

  • Young Professionals (Grade-I) will receive a lump sum monthly remuneration of ₹60,000/-.
  • There will be a 10 percent increase on completion of each year of service.

Age Limit:

  • The age limit is up to 30 years as on the date of the advertisement (31st October, 2025).
