About GSTAT

The Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT) is a quasi-judicial body established to hear appeals under the GST laws. The Principal Bench of GSTAT is located in Connaught Place, New Delhi, and plays a key role in resolving indirect tax disputes efficiently.

Position Details

The engagement of Legal Researchers (LRs) will be on a short-term contractual basis initially for one year, extendable up to three years, subject to the discretion and approval of the competent authority.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification:
    Applicants must hold a law degree with at least 50% marks and be eligible for enrolment as an advocate under the Bar Council of India.
    Final-year students of three-year or five-year LL.B. courses may also apply, provided they furnish proof of qualification at the time of interview.
  • Age Limit:
    Candidates must not be over 35 years of age at the time of application. Age relaxation may be granted at the discretion of the President, GSTAT.
  • Other Requirements:
    Candidates should have a working knowledge of computers, legal research tools, and online databases.

Nature of Engagement

  • The appointment is purely contractual, offering no right to regularization.
  • The engagement may be terminated at any time without notice or reason.
  • Selected candidates will assist the Hon’ble President and Members of GSTAT in judicial and administrative work.
