About The Indian Journal of Arbitration
The Indian Journal of Arbitration Law (IJAL) is a biannual, student-reviewed journal published in association with the Centre for Advanced Research and Training in Arbitration Law at National Law University, Jodhpur. National Law University, Jodhpur, one of the premier law schools in India, seeks to promote research and scholarship in specialized fields of law. In pursuance of this broader vision, the Centre for Advanced Research and Training in Arbitration Law has been established. The Centre combines student initiative and expert guidance to foster academic debate on contemporary topics related to arbitration and dispute resolution in general. As a part of this initiative, the Indian Journal of Arbitration Law was launched in 2012. This journal serves as a platform for understanding existing trends as well as setting out new ideas. Each issue of IJAL covers topical developments as well as topics of permanent interest in the field of arbitration. The journal seeks to maintain a balance between practical contributions and academic contributions and accepts submissions from professionals, academicians as well as law students. Every submission undergoes a rigorous blind review process. We invite you to explore our website as well as contribute to the journal.

Details
•The course is open to all law students and no registration fee will be charged.
•The deadline for registration is September 23, 2021 (Tuesday), 17:00 hrs (IST). For register for the Course using the following link: https://lnkd.in/eQaRaXpQ.
•The number of seats for the course are limited and participation will be confirmed via email within a few days of registration.
•Each day will consist of a lecture for 75 minutes and an assessment for 15 minutes (total 90 minutes).
•Certificates will be awarded to the participants conditional to full attendance and passing the assessments.
•The Course will be held between September 28 and October 2, 2021; and will comprise a total of 3 lectures.
Each lecture will take place between 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM IST respectively.Please find hereunder the details for the lectures: –
Topic 1: Introduction to Investment Treaty Protection and Arbitration (Sept. 28, 2021). This lecture will be delivered by Dr. Rishab Gupta (Partner, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co., Mumbai), Mr. Wesley Pang (Partner, Eversheds Sutherland, Hong Kong).
Topic 2: Substantive Protection – Fair and Equitable Treatment and Protection Against Expropriation (Sept. 30, 2021). This lecture will be delivered by Ms. Dilber DeVitre (Associate, Homburger AG, Switzerland) and Dr. Maria Nicole Cleis (Senior Associate, Walder Wyss, Switzerland).
Topic 3: Damages in Investment Treaty Arbitration (Oct. 02, 2021). This lecture will be delivered by Mr. Montek Mayal, CFA, CVA (Senior Managing Director, FTI Consulting, New Delhi).
