About the Organization
Air and Space are pressing issues in the realm of international law. International air law deals with many topics, such as transport responsibility, safety of passengers, hijacking, air pollution, and aerial warfare. Air law also combines public air law and private air law. Similarly, outer space is a key element in global security and sovereignty. Therefore, in order to avoid potentially devastating conflicts and to maintain global peace, there is a dire need for understanding the applicable rules of international law.
In this direction, MNLU Mumbai established a Centre for Research in Air & Space Law. The Centre aims to become an ideal forum for the exchange of ideas on the international law applicable to implementing international air and space law. It shall be a centre for advanced research for those practicing or studying international aerospace law. The Centre shall engage in improving the existing legal and policy framework for facilitation and regulation of a safe, secure, affordable and sustainable space and to contribute to the shaping of the legal foundation for the future of humanity that lies in space.
The Centre shall seek to support education, disseminate knowledge and encourage research. The objective of the Centre is to contribute to the development of air and space law and related policy by conducting and promoting research and teaching at the graduate and post-graduate levels.
About the Event
INDIAN REVIEW OF AIR AND SPACE LAW aims to provide a unique forum for practitioners, regulators, policymakers and academics who deal with international, regional and national aviation and space law and policy. It is an academically led peer-reviewed academic review that aims to publish high-quality scholarship on air and space law spanning all areas including comparative, international and multidisciplinary perspectives.
Typical articles combine theoretical rigor, substantive knowledge, and policy relevance. For example, articles may analyse an issue from a theoretical perspective; test theory or competing debates against relevant data; or provide a new historical treatment or solid comparative analysis for an issue.
All articles will be referred. The journal will also carry review essays and occasionally, round tables or research notes discussing various topical issues. With its distinctive combination of conceptual, theoretical and practical approaches to the issues of law, the Review aims to offer readers a unique opportunity to stay in touch with the latest developments in this rapidly evolving area. As part of its commitment to social and critical engagement in legal scholarship, the Review will also publish book reviews. Book reviews, consonant with the journal’s aims and scope, are also reviewed by our Academic Editors.
