ABOUT THE BOOK

Corporate Finance deals with how companies acquire resources, in form of funds, either internally or externally. This is mainly done via two modes, equity and debt. The Law of Corporate Finance prescribes the legal structure which includes; the rules for the corporate
players in management of their finances, functioning of market regulators, investor protection,and the role of intermediaries.
Presently, the readings and resources in Corporate Finance Law are scattered thereby causing inconvenience to the knowledge seekers. The conceptual links between the available resources seems to be missing owing to absence of a collated material dedicated to Law of Corporate Finance in India. With this handbook the editors seek to fill this gap and provide a comprehensive ready-reckoner thereby contributing to the literature in the concerned theme.
The concepts relating to and the legal regime prevailing for Corporate Finance in India constructs the central theme of the work. The book will collate texts on various aspects of corporate finance in form of chapters, including international/cross-border perspectives. The text of the book would consist of explanatory, analytical, evaluative, and comparative studies contributed by the authors. • Content Guidelines
o The Manuscript shall include an abstract of 300-400 words and at-least 3
keywords.
o The Manuscript should be of 4000-8000 words, inclusive of footnotes.
o The author(s) shall ensure that the information mentioned in the manuscript is
correct.
o Author(s) bio-file must be attached at the end of the manuscript; whereas the author(s) must also write their names below the Title of the Chapter.
o The submitted Manuscript must be unpublished and original work of the author(s);
o Similarity index of the contents of the manuscript shall not be more than 10% (wherein, footnotes, citations, bibliography and quoted text will not be counted for the purposes of plagiarism check);

ABOUT THE EDITORS

Prof. (Dr.) Yogendra Kumar Srivastava is presently working as Professor of Law and Dean of Outreach Programmes and Regulatory Affairs (External). He is a seasoned academic, author, administrator and columnist having a vast experience in the world of Legal Education, Government Sector, and Litigation. He steered many notable interventions in legal education and is well recognized as a change leader. Prior to joining the Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur he was working as Dean and Director, Faculty of Law and Dean, Student Welfare at Jagran Lakecity University, Bhopal. He led two projects namely Tuning India Project Academy (coordinated by University of Deusto, Spain and co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union) and Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Project on Chemical and Waste Management (coordinated by the Center for Environmental Education, Research and Advocacy (CEERA) of National Law School of India University Bengaluru. During this tenure he organized International/ National Conferences, Seminars, Refresher Courses, International/ National Moot Court Competitions, International/ National Debate Competitions, International Alternative Dispute Resolution Workshop, Training Programmes and many more academic events having participation from India and abroad. As an administrator, he successfully led collaborative efforts in academics and research with reputed international and national universities. His approach to partner with institutions in the legal education world is widely appreciated and used as a model.

Prof. Srivastava has authored five books and contributed several chapters for international and national publications. He has published research papers in many reputed journals and has extensively written articles for leading daily news papers. Under his guidance four scholars have defended their Ph.D. Thesis and two have submitted the final thesis. Prof. Srivastava has been the convener of several international and national conferences on pertinent topics of Law. He frequently addresses workshops, seminars and training programmes on a variety of topics as a resource person. He has also appeared on the TV
Programmes and Radio Broadcasts.

Mr. Abhinav K Shukla is an Assistant Professor of Law at HNLU. He completed graduation from HNLU with Honours in Constitutional Governance and Corporate Laws. He did his masters in law from O.P. Jindal Global University in Constitutional Laws and a distinction in GST Laws. He has been mentoring the CLAT aspirants since 2015 and has worked as faculty, mentor and national anchor with leading CLAT preparation institutions IMS India Mumbai and Career Launcher (CL Educate Ltd.) New Delhi. He has also worked as Assistant Professor of Law at Amity University Chhattisgarh where he has held the responsibilities of faculty convenor of National Moot Court Competition and Model Indian Parliament, member of the Board of Studies, examination coordinator and academic coordinator. He is a member of the Editorial Board of ‘The Exordium: Journal of Socio-Contemporary Issues’. He is a guest speaker at Lawinsider.in and also writes columns and articles for national newspapers: The Daily Guardian, The Pioneer New Delhi, The Hitavada.

Mr. Amitesh Deshmukh is an Assistant Professor of Law at HNLU. He completed his B.A.,
LL.B. (Hons.) and LL.M. from HNLU focusing on constitutional, criminal and corporate laws. While pursuing his masters in corporate laws, he qualified for JRF award and Assistant Professor by securing 100 percentiles in the UGC-NET in December 2018. Having a keen interest in business laws, he has done several courses in Competition Laws and Intellectual Property Rights, and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. from HNLU. Prior to joining HNLU, he has worked as Assistant Professor at NLU, Jodhpur and Amity University, Chhattisgarh.
