The Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India invites suggestions on the Proposed Amendments to the Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1969.

Registration of Births and Deaths in India is mandatory with the enactment of Registration of Births and Deaths (RBD), Act 1969 and is done as per the place of
occurrence of the event. With a view to simplify the provisions ofvarious sections of the existing RBD Act, 1969 and to make it people friendly, the Government of India has proposed to amend the RBD Act, 1969.

Existing sections of the Act and amendments proposed by the Office of the Registrar General, India (ORGI) are indicated in the first two columns of the proposal respectively. You can provide your suggestions / comments, on the proposed amendments or otherwise, maybe provided, in the third column along with justification in the last column.

How to Submit your suggestions?

The suggestions may be sent to the office within 30 days from the date of its publication on the website. A soft copy of the proposal can be downloaded in pdf format and your suggestions/comments, in the required format, be sent through email to [email protected] within the stipulated time.
