About The Event

The 1st NLIU-ANAND & ANAND Trademark Opposition Competition is a first-of-its-kind, practice-oriented IP dispute simulation focusing exclusively on trademark opposition proceedings. The Competition aims to provide law students with hands-on experience in navigating statutory provisions, drafting key pleadings before the Trade Marks Registry, and presenting oral arguments on issues of registrability, confusion, dilution, and procedural compliance.

The Competition mirrors real-world opposition practice by requiring participants to draft both a Notice of Opposition and a Counter-Statement, followed by oral rounds judged by intellectual property experts from the partnering law firm.
