The NLIU-MCA is delighted to present the twelfth edition of the NLIU – VKC Law Offices National Corporate Law Moot, 2026, scheduled to take place in person from 30th January to 1st February, 2026. Renowned as one of the most prestigious corporate law moots in India, it has consistently drawn participation from leading universities across the country, establishing itself as a highly anticipated event in the legal calendar.

The MCA, with every successive edition of this renowned competition, hopes to provide every participant with an enriched experience and a platform to express their zeal and rigour in respect to the legal sphere.

NNCLM is one of the oldest and most reputed corporate law based moots in India. Over the years, we have had the privilege to collaborate with reputed institutions including Juris Corp, Competition Commission of India, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India, Yono SBI and INSOL India as our Official Institutional Partners for the competition. In the past editions, the competition has witnessed a tremendous quality of participation and the participants and judges have commended the hospitality at NLIU.

Being one of the most prestigious corporate law competitions organised in the country, the final rounds of the eleventh edition were judged by an illustrious panel comprising were judged by an esteemed panel, including Hon’ble Mr. Justice Vishal Dhagat (Judge, High Court of Madhya Pradesh), Mr. Sudhir K Makkar (Senior Advocate, High Court of Delhi), and Mr. Varun Kumar Chopra (Managing Partner, VKC Law Offices). This moot has also witnessed participation from all leading law schools from India in the past editions. The final rounds witnessed a compelling display of legal acumen, with both teams engaging in sharp, strategic arguments and persuasive advocacy, making it a thrilling contest for the judges and audience alike.

The Competition and its Partners

For this edition of the NLIU National Corporate Law Moot, the competition is organised in association with VKC Law Offices as the Joint Organiser. Headquartered in New Delhi and led by Mr. Varun Kumar Chopra, Advocate, Supreme Court of India, VKC Law Offices is a distinguished firm recognised for its proficiency across diverse domains of litigation and arbitration. The firm’s dedication to providing strategic and result-oriented legal solutions has earned it a reputation for excellence within the legal fraternity. Its association with this Moot will greatly enrich the competition by bringing practical insights from contemporary legal practice and fostering a deeper understanding of dispute resolution among participants.

We are also grateful to Insolvency Law Academy for its research support in drafting the proposition this year, as our Official Knowledge Partner, a collaboration made possible through the support of Mr. Sumant Batra (President, Insolvency Law Academy). Format of the Competition

On behalf of NLIU, Bhopal, we would like to invite esteemed institutions to participate in this enriching experience. The competition shall be organised in a physical mode. The competition shall commence with a Memorial Qualifier Round, following which the top 24 teams, based on their memorial scores, shall qualify for the Oral Rounds to be conducted in person on the NLIU campus. The Oral Rounds shall comprise two Preliminary Rounds, followed by the Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, and the Final Round.

It is mandatory to complete provisional registration for all institutions or interested teams and the details for final registration shall be shared upon confirmation of provisional registration. The teams qualifying for the Oral Rounds shall be required to register for the Oral Rounds separately by paying a fee of INR 10,000 per team, which includes accommodation for all team members for two nights during the competition.

Each team must consist of three members, including two speakers and one researcher. There is no cap on the number of teams from an institution; however, every team must obtain the requisite approval from their institution to participate.

Timeline of the Moot

  • Last Date for Provisional Registration: 7th November, 2025
  • Last Date for Final Registration: 21st November, 2025
  • Last date for sending Clarifications: 14th November, 2025
  • Submission of Memorials (Soft-Copy): 21st December, 2025
  • Declaration of Teams Qualifying the Memorial Round: 3rd January, 2026
  • Oral Rounds30th January, 2026 – 1st February, 2026

Venue

The competition will be organised in a physical mode at the NLIU Campus in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.

Registration Procedure

The institutions can register themselves for the Competition, provisionally through their designated Moot Court Association by filling the Google Form by 7th November, 2025 attached here.
