About The Competition
Policy making requires collaboration, creativity, and a deep commitment to social justice that is more equitable. The Centre for Equality, Minority Participation, Children’s & Women’s Rights (EMPOWER) at Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur is organizing RANNEETI, National policy making competition, 2024. The competition offers a platform to legal intellectuals to showcase their skills in policy making that will foster a deeper understanding of governance. Ranneeti invites individuals to contribute their voices and visions that empower the minorities, children and women. The competition will be conducted in an online mode.
Eligibility Criteria
- Students currently pursuing 3-year or 5-year LLB courses.
- Students pursuing a Master’s degree in law.
- Each participating team shall compromise a minimum of 2 members and maximum of 3 members.
Themes
- Legalization of Prostitution: Addressing Rights, Safety, and Social Implications.
- Reevaluating the Age of Consent.
- Gender and Religious Dress Codes: Legalization or Banning in Public and Institutional Spaces.
- Criminalization of Marital Rape.
- Addressing Online Harassment and Revenge Porn: Policies to Combat Cyber Exploitation and Protect Victims.
Guidelines for Abstract Submission
Word Limit for the abstract is 400-450 Words.
While drafting the abstract, participants are encouraged to keep the following points in mind to ensure a well-rounded and comprehensive submission:
- Theme of the policy
- Objective of the policy
- Scope of the policy
- A brief modus operandi of the policy
- Legal validity of the policy
- Expected outcome of the policy
- Contemporary relevance of the policy
Prizes
- First Prize “Best Policy”: Rs 5000 + Certificate of Merit.
- Second Prize : Rs 3000 + Certificate of Merit.
- Third Prize : Rs 2000 + Certificate of Merit.
- Top 5 policies following the Top 3 Policies will be given a Certificate of Excellence.
- The top three policy papers will be published on the official website of the Centre for Equality, Minority Participation, Children’s & Women’s Rights, DNLU.
- All the participants will receive an E-certificate acknowledging their participation in the event

- Last date for Abstract Submission – 13th November, 2024
- Result of Preliminary Rounds – 17th November, 2024
- Final Round – 27th November, 2024
