About Institute of Legislative Drafting and Research: With a view to increasing the availability of trained Legislative Counsel in the county, the Institute of Legislative Drafting and Research (ILDR) was established as a Wing of the Legislative Department, Ministry of Law and Justice in January, 1989 on the initiatives of Mrs Ramadevi, former Secretary, Legislative Department and exGovernor. Since then, ILDR has been imparting theoretical as well as practical training in Legislative Drafting.

Eligibility:
- 4th and 5th-year students from 5-year integrated law course
- Final year students from a 3-year law course, from a recognized law college in the country.
- Preference shall be given to the students who have opted for Legislative Drafting as a subject in their course of study.
