Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Gauhati High Court Law Clerk position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Selection Process
The recruitment process for Gauhati High Court Law Clerk involves two stages:
Stage 1: Written Examination (120 Marks)
- The exam will be OMR-based (objective-type multiple-choice questions).
- Duration: 2 hours
- Subjects covered:
- English Proficiency – 30 marks
- General Knowledge – 10 marks
- General Aptitude – 10 marks
- Law-related Knowledge – 50 marks
- Assamese Language (Qualifying Only) – 20 marks (Must score at least 40% to qualify for interview, but marks won’t be counted in final merit list.)
Stage 2: Viva Voce/Interview (30 Marks)
- Candidates will be shortlisted for interviews in a 1:3 ratio (three candidates for each vacancy).
- Minimum qualifying marks in interview: 18 marks (60%)
Final Selection Criteria:
- Total marks obtained in Written Exam + Interview will determine the final selection.
- If two or more candidates score the same, preference will be given to:
- Higher marks in the Written Exam.

- Click “New Registration” and fill in the required details.
- Save the Registration Code (also sent via email).
- Complete the Application Form:
- Log in with the Registration Code & Date of Birth.
- Enter Personal, Educational, and Contact Details.
- Upload Documents:
- Upload Photograph (354×276 pixels, 5-30 KB, JPG/PNG/GIF format).
- Upload Signature (118×276 pixels, 5-30 KB, JPG/PNG/GIF format).
- Submit the Application:
- Verify all details and click “Submit.”
- Take a printout of the Fee Payment Challan.
- Pay the Application Fee:
- Payment should be made at any SBI branch (within 2 working days after online submission).
- Last date for fee payment: 4th March 2025.
- Keep the challan copy as proof of payment.
- Print Acknowledgment & Application Form:
- After 2 working days, download and print the Acknowledgment Receipt.

Terms of Engagement
- Tenure: Initially 2 years (subject to extension).
