The Centre for IP Studies (“CIPS”) at National Law University, Jodhpur is focused on creating a niche space for research in intellectual property. CIPS engages with the community and creates avenues for spreading awareness on intellectual property. Its combination of motivated faculty members and students aims to make the domain of intellectual property accessible to all through its initiatives.

About the Course
The Centre for Intellectual Property Studies (CIPS) National Law University Jodhpur is organising a Free Online Workshop (no registration fee needed) on Intellectual Property rights and Patents, Design Filing on August 24, 2022 from 10:30 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.
The free online workshop aims at creating awareness about the diverse range of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) with special emphasis on the rights that come along with Patent and Design registrations.
It seeks to initiate discussions on the importance of IPR and its relevance in light of the rapid technological advancements in present times. It also aims at bringing into focus the nuanced features of IPR that play a huge role at domestic as well as global levels especially when colossal brands are concerned.
Most importantly, it seeks to discuss the benefits and challenges that are associated with Patent and Design filings and the contemporary legal framework.

Examiner of Patents & Designs, RGNIIPM, Nagpur, Ministry of Commerce
Mr. Chandrakar has done Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering and is currently an Examiner of Patents & Designs at RGNIIPM, Nagpur.
With over 6 years of work experience in the Indian Patent Office, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Mr. Chandrakar has expertise in examining and dealing with national and international patent applications filed at different Patent offices across India.
Moreover, he is actively involved in dispersing IPR literacy across the country through the medium of lectures.
Eligibility
The event is open to members of the student community pursuing a three-year law degree or five-year integrated law courses, LL.M., or any course on intellectual property.
The event also welcomes members of the academia, legal practitioners and any person interested in learning and exploring the scope of IPR, Patents and Designs.
