About the Book
Symbiosis Law School, Nagpur is making a call for research papers for the Edited Book titled “Women Behind Closed Doors: Laws in India”.
Women in a domestic space often are vulnerable and subjected to abuse in the background of patriarchal norms. Women face abuse and violence in a variegated form, often a combination of multiple cases of abuse depending on the age, social strata, economic stability, and cultural background in which the woman is situated in.
The objective of the edited book is to engage the readers with the socio-legal aspects of violence against women in domestic spaces.

Call for Papers
Symbiosis Law School, Nagpur invites quality paper submissions for the Edited Book titled “Women Behind Closed Doors: Laws in India” with ISBN.
Theme
- Identification and Theorizing of abuse within the Legal framework
- Gender as a factor in Abuse and Violence
- Laws and policies protecting women against domestic violence
- International framework for curbing Abuse and Domestic violence
- Judicial responses and trends in interpreting abuse and contexts of domestic violence
- Enforcement agencies and Institutional responses toward survivors of domestic violence
- Identifying unrecognized forms of abuse and violence in domestic spaces
- Impact of COVID-19 pandemic on survivors’ access to justice
- Community participation and the Role of civil society in curbing abuse and domestic violence
The above-mentioned themes are only indicative and any paper relevant to the book may be submitted.
Submission Guidelines
- The first page should have the title and an abstract of not more than 300 words and at least 5 keywords should be mentioned, along with the details of the author and co-authors including their designation, institutional affiliation, email-id, and phone number.
- The contributions submitted for publication in the journal must neither have been previously published nor currently be under consideration for publication elsewhere.
- Co-authorship is allowed for up to a maximum of 2 authors.
- The contributions shall not be more than 3000 – 6000 words inclusive of tables and graphs, diagrams, photographs, references, and a bibliography.
- The headings should be in 14 font size, Times New Roman, and text in 12 font size with 1.5 spacing.
- The footnotes should be in Times New Roman,10 font size. The citation style to be used should be Bluebook 21st Edition.
- The diagrams and tables should have appropriate titles and sources if extracted.
- Submissions must use only footnotes as a form of citation. Speaking or substantive footnotes are highly discouraged.
- Submissions must only be in electronic form in the .doc format.
- The papers shall be checked for plagiarism. Plagiarized work will be outrightly rejected. Similarity only up to 10% will be accepted.
Submission Procedure

- There will be no publication charges. However, in case the authors are interested in getting a hard copy of the book, nominal charges would have to be paid. The details of the publisher, and charges will be communicated as and when it is confirmed
Important Dates
- Last date for submission of paper: July 24, 2022
- Book will be released in the month of August 2022.
