About Pro Bono Club
The Pro Bono Club (PBC) at Presidency University is a dynamic student-led initiative aligned with the Department of Justice’s Nyaya Bandhu Programme, launched in 2017 to connect advocates with communities in need of legal assistance. Established at Presidency School of Law in 2022, the Pro Bono Club seeks to cultivate a culture of service and social responsibility among budding legal professionals by engaging them in meaningful legal assistance to diverse communities in need. Its core aim is to bridge the gap between legal rights and access to justice through student-led initiatives.
About the Pro Bono Conclave
The legal profession carries with it a profound responsibility to promote justice, equality, and service to society. Pro bono work lies at the heart of this responsibility, enabling legal practitioners to extend their expertise to communities that may otherwise remain excluded from the justice system.
Recognising the pivotal role of universities in fostering such values, the Presidency School of Law, through its Pro Bono Club, is organising the Nationwide Pro Bono Conclave. This platform will bring together pro bono associates from law schools across India to share their initiatives, learn from expert guidance, and network with peers equally committed to expanding access to justice.
