Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized university.
- Candidates must have completed either:
- A 5-year regular law degree after 10+2, or
- A 3-year law degree after completing a regular degree course post 10+2.
- Law degree must have been obtained within 2 years immediately preceding the date of notification.
- Age Limit:
- Candidates must not have attained the age of 30 years as of 1st January 2025.
- Other Requirements:
- Candidates must not be pursuing any other regular course of study or professional engagement.
- Advocates selected for the post must suspend their practice during their tenure as Law Clerks.
Selection Process
- Application Screening:
- Applications will be screened to ensure eligibility based on the prescribed guidelines.
- Viva Voce (Interview):
- Shortlisted candidates will appear for a viva voce in Amaravati.
- The High Court reserves the right to conduct the viva voce either in person or online based on administrative requirements.
- Selection Approval:
- The final list of selected candidates will be subject to approval by the Hon’ble Chief Justice.
Duties and Responsibilities
Law Clerks will assist Hon’ble Judges in the following capacities:
- Reading case files and preparing case summaries, notes, and chronologies.
- Identifying facts, issues, and key legal questions.
- Conducting legal research, including case law studies and statutory analysis.
- Drafting judicial orders and preparing material for conferences or seminars.
