About IJAL:
The Indian Journal of Arbitration Law (IJAL) is a bi-annual, open-access journal published by the Centre for Advanced Research and Training in Arbitration Law (CARTAL), and indexed on Kluwer Arbitration, HeinOnline, and Westlaw. IJAL is the leading journal on arbitration law in India and an excellent source of reference for international arbitration. IJAL publishes contributions from experienced arbitrators, practitioners, academicians, and law students, on contemporary topics in international commercial and investment arbitration, as well as on jurisdiction-specific themes.
About CARTAL:
The Centre for Advanced Research & Training in Arbitration Law (CARTAL) seeks to empower students with a theoretical and practical understanding of arbitration. The Centre provides a platform for academicians, professionals and students to interact and discuss contemporary issues of arbitration law. The mandate of the Centre is achieved by the organization of workshops, conferences and guest lectures to facilitate the understanding of such issues.
Some Specifics about the Conference:
The theme of this year’s Conference shall be “Leaps and Bounds: Arbitration Evolving”.
The Conference will be held from April 1 to April 3, 2022; and will comprise a total of 3 panel discussions. Each panel discussion shall be conducted from 5:00 PM to 6:15 PM IST on the respective dates.
Panel Details:
Panel I: Blockchain Technology and Arbitration (April 1, 2022). The panellists are Mr. Calvin Koo (Principal, Kobre & Kim LLP, Hong Kong), Dr Sara Hourani (Senior Lecturer, Middlesex University, London), Mr. Santiago Rodriguez Senior (Associate, Uría Menéndez Abogados, S.L.P., Madrid), and Ms. Shilpa Mankar Ahluwalia (Partner, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co., New Delhi).
Panel II: Disclosure of Third-Party Funding in International Arbitration (April 2, 2022). The panellists are Ms. Ananya Mitra (Associate, Dechert LLP, Singapore), Mr. Anish WADIA, C.Arb (Chartered Arbitrator, Accredited Mediator & Governing Council Member, Hyderabad Arbitration Centre, India), Mr. Apoorva Patel (Vice President, Burford Capital, Washington, D.C.), Prof. Dr. Catherine Rogers (Founder and CEO, Arbitrator Intelligence), and Ms. Katie Chung (Partner, Norton Rose Fulbright (Asia) LLP, Singapore).
Panel III: Expedited Arbitration and Due Process (April 3, 2022).
